Provision of Community Physiotherapy Services in Milton Keynes

Community Physiotherapy Services play an important role in managing musculoskeletal (MSK) patients in the community in Milton Keynes. This service is an integral part of the local MSK pathways, which encompasses Orthopaedics, Pain Management, Rheumatology, Physiotherapy and some Diagnostics. NHS Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group (MKCCG) currently commissions Community Physiotherapy services on an Any Qualified Provider (AQP) basis. Each year 14,000 referrals are made to Community Physiotherapy in Milton Keynes, with physiotherapy providers undertaking 43,000 treatments. This Prior Information Notice is to alert interested parties that MKCCG intends to procure Community Physiotherapy Services on an AQP basis from 1st April 2016. Further details will be made available in due course. The procurement for the service is planned to commence in May 2015. NHS Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group is a consortium of 27 GP practices in Milton Keynes and is responsible for commissioning local health services for the population of Milton Keynes.
