Replacement of Existing Heating Services & Associated Works at Glinsk National School, Glinsk, Castlerea, Co Galway
Descriptions
This project involves the replacement of the existing space heating system including boiler house equipment. A new LPG space heating system shall be installed consisting of centralised LPG boiler plant, serving steel panel radiators via a zoned heating distribution pipework system. A new domestic hot water cylinder shall also be installed as part of the works. The project shall include all mechanical works including all associated controls, electrical services and builder’s work requirements. Refer to the drawings for further information on the works to be carried out. The scope of the works will generally be as follows: • Decommissioning, stripping out and removal from site of 2 no. existing oil-fired boilers, pumps, pipework, flues, domestic hot water cylinder, controls associated with the oil boilers, oil supply line pipework, etc in the existing boiler house. • Decommission, stripping out and removal from site of the existing oil storage tank and oil supply line to the boiler house. • Supply and installation of 1 no. new stainless steel condensing gas fired boiler (including bulk LPG tank services), gas slamshut valves, gas detection system, gas pipework, pumps, controls, plant room pipework, etc in the boiler house. • Supply and installation of new radiators throughout the existing building. These shall be connected into the new heating distribution pipework as per the drawings. • Supply and installation of a number of new 2-port valves and associated isolating valves and thermostats throughout the building as indicated on the drawings. • All associated electrical works for the project. New gas fired boiler shall be wired and controlled from the new MCC panel within existing boiler house. • Mechanical contractor to allow for shall associated electrical services and builder’s work requirements.
